MIDIShaper
Powered by Curve's unique modulations engine, MidiShaper brings Curve's flexible yet powerful LFOs and envelopes to all your favorite synthesizers and effects.
Four LFOs and four envelope generators work together in a sophisticated modulations matrix that can be set up to output modulated pitch, modwheel, channel aftertouch or any MIDI control messages.
MidiShaper's LFOs can run infinitely or be retriggered, synced to your DAW from a buzzy 1/128 to an expansive 32 bars, set to the played note, or run from 0.02 Hz up to the audible range and brain frequency. Like Curve, MidiShaper features completely editable waveforms for its LFOs.

Routing MidiShaper

The Model 7 grand piano was sampled from a outstanding example of a Yamaha C7 grand coda piano. Chocolate Audio's first idea was to sample another model, a CFIII, but when they went to the rental-house they totally fell in love with the C7 and chose it.
- Model 80 Electric Grand Piano
Sampled from a Yamaha CP80 compact electric grand, the Model 80 is a work of love and an homage to the sound that defined an era.
- Model D Grand Piano
The Model D grand piano was sampled from a Hamburg-made 1939 Steinway D274 grand coda piano. This particular piano has been in use in various venues in Italy and has been played and praised by many top-level international classical and jazz players.
- O.D.D. Grand Piano
Unusual Pianos you have been dreaming of having. Chocolate Audio already has four pianos in their product line, two of which are very sought-after top-notch models. They made the choice to release another stunning piano sample pack which was a difficult task to do, but it ended up being very rewarding in the end.
-Uproar RAW 8-string guitar
Chocolate Audio teamed up with the extremely talented Gianluca Ferro using his Custom ESP 8-String Baritone Guitar to record a massive amount of samples dedicated to power rhythm guitar. This Baritone Guitar was sampled through two boutique guitar rigs in parallel (all with a perfect phase relationship) and a separate clean D.I. signal. So there is some Bi-Amping to add some additional juice if needed to your tracks.

Decimort - High Quality Bit Crusher with a complex and advanced signal processing algorithms, simulating the behaviour of the whole sampling path which exists in every AD/DA converter. Electronic music producers (especially in Hip-Hop) have always been aware that classic samplers (such as early Akai and EMU units) had a character and sound of their own. They added a "grit" and "colour" to the samples and loops they played back which made them sound "Fat" and sit well in a mix. This sound colouration was due to the encoding techniques, lower sample rates, lower bit rate and conversion circuits which these early samplers used. Decimort recreates this colouration and adds the vintage sampler magic to any loop, bass line or sound played through it. It also acts as the perfect bit crusher with filter.

The popularity of tube distortion units are as a result of their superiority over the solid-state fuzz distortions which are based on transistor clipper circuits. Tubes produce even and odd harmonics and naturally compress the signal. Transistors produce only odd harmonics and limit the sound.

Toraverb - Space Modulated Reverb is a concept algorithm reverb. When creating Toraverb, D 16 did not base it on any current reverb unit available in the market. They did not implement any “off-the-shelf” algorithm. Toraverb is not a classic type reverb unit like spring, room, hall or plate. Toraverb is a concept algorithm reverb. Using a set of easily accessible parameters, it allows the user to create practically ANY type of reverb.

Syntorus - Double Path Analog Chorus is a chorus effecting unit with a double delay line. It's capable of emulating almost every classic unit available. There are many different chorus effect plugins available on the market today. However, finding one which gives the classic analog chorus sound is easier said than done. Even on expensive units with advanced parameter controls, getting that vintage chorus timbre can be a challenge. With this in mind, D16 set out to create a plugin which would have a rich analog chorus similar to the effect found on classic synthesisers like the Solina, Synthex or Juno. This new effect is called Syntorus.

Synthesis
Nepheton contains 17 fully synthesized instruments perfectly emulating the famous 808 drum machine. All the nuances and details of the instruments sounds are captured perfectly. The instruments models are equipped with additional controls giving you possibility to tweak the sound much better. Listen to the audio examples or just download the demo and try it out.
Outputs
Nepheton has a flexible output configuration. Every instrument's audio signal can be routed to any of the 12 outputs. This allows users to further shape sounds individually or in groups via their favourite plug-ins.
Each individual output can be set to mono or stereo. For the greatest 808 fans we've added also original Trigger output (configurable as well).
Every instrument also has a Mute, Solo button and Activity led. Mute will not just silence the sound, it will stop the sound being triggered. Solo will stop all other instruments from being triggered and only allow the selected sound(s) to play.
Control
Nepheton has extensive midi control. Midi notes can be used to trigger each individual sound. Alternatively, the internal sequencer can be used. This can be set to play using Nepheton's internal clock or set to synchronize perfectly to the host sequencer.
Most of Nepheton's parameters can be automated within the host and also controlled using MidiCC with an external controller. An easy-to-use Midi Learn function allows reassignment of any of the parameters.
Internal Sequencer
Internal sequencer's memory contains two banks of patterns: simple and extended. There is 16 extended and 96 simple patterns which both can be edited traditionally using the step buttons or using the tap function.
Simple patterns are used in Host Mode where each pattern location has a midi note number assigned to it. With these notes you can control freely the order of played patterns.
Extended pattern differs from the simple one in it has 4 segments (variation A/B and part 1/2). The whole bank of 16 extended patterns is divided into two groups of Basic Patterns and Intro/Fill In Patterns. You can choose freely from played patterns, used variations, and fill in modes (triggered automatically or manually). It also can be defined whether the starting pattern should be preceded by introduction pattern and many many more. Extended patterns are used when Host Mode is off.
A Randomizer function is also provided within the internal sequencer. It can be used to make simple changes to a pattern or create a whole new one - ideal when your creativity needs a boost! Randomizing can be applied to specific instruments and the frequency of occurrence can also be adjusted easily to give you just the right amount.
All external files are stored in the XML format. This allows single patterns or whole banks to be exchanged between users easily. XML allows the files to be edited in a text editor. Ideal if you want to post or share a pattern on a web site - just post the text!

Hybrid Synth Armageddon
Crossfade between sound sources and filter settings with the central XY pad to capture morphing hybrid sounds in moments. By moving the Orbital Control, you can dynamically capture broad but smooth shifts in both timbre and frequency content. Moving left and right changes the blend amount between two contrasting sources—from analog, acoustic, synthetic, and large-scale cinematic sounds. The vertical position controls filter frequency and is perfect for creating sweeping gestures however you see fit.
Advanced Filter Modulation
The XY Pad isn't the only way to control the filter. Simply pull up the filter section of the UI and you can pop open the hood, controlling the modulation depth. The Mod Envelope allows you to add an ADSR-style envelope onto the filter cutoff, automating its movement with each note, while the Step LFO section produces a gated rhythm as the sequencer modulates the filter cutoff frequency. This leaves you free to play with the XY Pad, creating progressive textures and drones to set the tone of the atmosphere you want to build.
Dual Arpeggiator
The dual-arpeggiator structure allows for any rhythmic combinations you like across both layers. You can create polyrhythms, sync rhythms together, or even choose one layer to sustain while the other sets a rhythmic foundation. Create staccato and legato patterns with portamento and glide as you like. Not only does this make it easy to create highly dynamic and choppy ostinatos, but each of the two sound sources gets its own sequencer with the option to desynchronize their speeds. The two are adjacent to each other in the UI, giving you unprecedented automation capabilities without digging through multiple different submenus. Copy settings between both and you can produce slight variations that support more depth, creativity, and shimmer than you'll find anywhere else.

ICONIC’s user interface centers around an XY Pad with 4 selectable Macro Effects that modulate multiple parameters simultaneously. Blending a vintage knob-per-function design, with sleek modern styling, all of ICONIC’s controls are easily accessible in a single page. Shape these ICONIC synth sounds from the dual filters that can be modulated, an advanced 16-step arpeggiator, multi-mode portamento (glide), and a bevy of effects to widen, pulse, distort, delay, and spatialize the final sound.
Classic Sounds Reimagined For The Future
While ICONIC features synths and sounds used in classic songs that have sold hundreds of millions of copies, it's not stuck in any time period. After recording these rare synthesizers in EastWest Studio 1, the producers also sent the sounds to analog tape machines (include a tube Studer J37) and pushed them to levels to create tape saturation and harmonic distortion for an alternative modern sound. The instruments were also re-amped into EastWest Studio 2, using multiple mic positions so the studio sound could be added to the direct sounds, a technique that was often used by Thriller recording and mixing engineer Bruce Swedien.

Producer Doug Rogers:
Sound titan Doug Rogers is the highly esteemed producer and visionary behind EastWest Sounds. He is the recipient of three NAMM TEC Awards for Best Musical Instrument Software in the past five years. His dedication to quality and innovation has provided millions of musicians with tools that have changed the way music is created and produced.
Producer Eden Nagar:
Eden Nagar is a rising star engineer/producer, having worked with many artists in the hip hop, R&B, Afro Beats, and pop genres including IDK, MF Doom, Young Thug, Gunna, Musiq Soulchild, Burna Boy, Kaytranada, Mike Dean and many more. He designed the extensive FX tools onboard and worked with Rogers and Marinelli to faithfully capture these iconic instruments.
Producer Blake Rogers:
Blake Rogers has been part of the EastWest production team since Hollywood Choirs. As a project coordinator, he contributed to the development of additional products Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition, Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra and Hollywood Strings 2. For ICONIC, he used his extensive knowledge of music history to help curate hundreds of presets.
Synth programmer Anthony Marinelli:
Anthony Marinelli is a celebrated musician, composer, and programmer, best known for his work on Michael Jackson's iconic album Thriller. His contributions to the album's distinctive sound, particularly his expertise in programming state-of-the-art synthesizers, have left an indelible mark on music history. He has also recorded albums with Lionel Richie, Van Halen, Supertramp, James Brown, The Crystal Method, Elvis Costello, Giorgio Moroder and Quincy Jones.

One of the most eclectic and prolific artists in rock music, Steven Wilson has been writing, recording, and producing music continuously since the early nineties. Album releases and touring as leader of his band Porcupine Tree, and more recently as a solo artist, saw him gain a reputation for his songwriting, experimentation, and sonic excellence, resulting in many invitations to work with other artists. Among many things he has produced several albums for Grammy Award-winning Swedish metal band Opeth and he sung on UK drum and bass band Pendulum's UK number one album "Immersion". He started a solo career in 2009, and his most recent solo album "The Raven that Refused to Sing" was recorded at EASTWEST Studios with legendary recording engineer Alan Parsons at the helm. Wilson has become known for his 5.1 surround sound mixes, starting with his own projects, but more recently for remixing the catalogues of King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Roxy Music, XTC, and Yes, among others. His surround sound mixes have been Grammy nominated on four occasions, and he has twice won "Album of the Year" at the Surround Music Awards. Wilson is seen by many as the predominant progressive rock musician in the world today, and in 2012 he won "Guiding Light" at the "Progressive Music Awards" 2012, following this in 2013 with another win for best album for "The Raven that Refused to Sing".
For the first time ever, this new instrument presents some of Steven's most innovative sounds, as well as a selection of especially created instruments and replications of some instantly recognizable classic sounds originally created by other legendary producers and engineers. These organic and inspirational sounds can be used as part of the fabric of complex music productions, or as the basis for cinematic soundtrack-based music, providing a ready-made selection of sonic building blocks with years of expertise and sonic innovation already embedded in them. WHY GHOSTWRITER?
A ghostwriter is a composer who writes music that will be officially credited to another person. The concept of ghostwriting goes back centuries: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a well-known composer paid to ghostwrite music for wealthy patrons. These days the sound design aspect of composing music has become as important as the notes, chords and rhythms, particularly in the creation of film, game, and television soundtracks, so while Ghostwriter won't write the music for you, it has been designed to be a "ghost" collaborator in the compositional process, an invaluable and inspirational tool for creating your music.
