Warm, refined and one of the most advanced kits ever made by Yamaha, the Maple Custom Absolute is perfect for all genres of music, especially pop, indie, rock, jazz, classic metal, fusion and many more. A bonus reduced-detail Yamaha fibreglass snare (taken from BFD Signature Snares Vol.1) is also included.
BFD Maple Custom Absolute is recorded in similar studio conditions as BFD Percussion, other FXpansion Yamaha-based expansions such as BFD Oak Custom and the Mapleworks kits in BFD3.

BFD Modern Retro is an expansion pack for BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2 with a pair of kits that helped define the sound of the 90s and early 2000s. Produced and recorded by Chocolate Audio (the team behind BFD Imperial Drums), the pack combines extreme levels of detail with varied mic channels and beater types to provide a set of remarkably expressive drums with a wide timbral range.
The 70 included instruments include 1997 Sonor Designer and late 90s Tama Starclassic kits, Ludwig, Sonor and Tama snares and a suite of cymbals and hihats by Zildjian, Ufip, Paiste, Turkish and Sabian. Many sounds feature hotrod or brush versions while kicks are provided in plastic and felt beater versions and recorded with 4 direct mics! The lush ambience of the recording space is captured with 2 sets of overhead and room mics.
BFD Modern Retro comes with mix-ready presets designed to offer a variety of pop/rock-oriented sounds although the pack is perfect for all modern genres that demand detailed, focused and powerful-sounding drums.
BFD Oblivion is an expansion for FXpansion's BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2 designed to provide ready-to-use heavy rock and metal drum sounds. The included sounds are inspired by genres like post-metal, sludge, prog-metal and alt-rock and are intended to have the punch to slice through the densest walls of guitars.
Based around 3 different versions of a Mapex Orion kit with Mapex brass and Brady jarrah wood snares, each with different degrees of processing, BFD Oblivion also contains cymbals from Bosphorus, Zildjian and Paiste in natural and processed versions. Crafted by an in-house team obsessed with metal, BFD Oblivion is processed heavily so you don't have to - just add your hardest guitars and basses to create an authentic foundation for all kinds of rock and metal music.

BFD Orchestral is an expansion pack that delivers a unique set of concert percussion to your BFD3, BFD Eco or BFD2 sessions. The included sounds are perfect for film and commercial composition as well as for progressive music production and creative sound design.
BFD Orchestral features a variety of orchestral bass drums, snares and hand cymbals alongside chromatically tuned timpani and concert chimes which are sampled over 1.5 octaves and perfect for unusual melodic lines. Other highlights include suspended cymbals with huge decays due to the lack of a stand to dampen vibrations.
All the sounds in BFD Orchestral are recorded using carefully selected high-end equipment to capture the dynamics and sonic beauty of these instruments which have the versatility to fit into all kinds of genres and mixes.

BFD Sabian Digital Vault is a diverse cymbal collection for BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2 full of classic, prototype and one-off cymbals from the Sabian archives.
A huge variety of meticulously sampled ride, crash, splash, china and effect cymbals is featured alongside fascinating percussion cymbals and 4 hyper-detailed hihats. Other highlights include unique stacked cymbal setups as well as HHX and AAX series favourites. Selected instruments are also presented in mallet and brush versions. The recordings were conducted by sampling guru John Emrich with an emphasis on inspiring new and exciting cymbal parts.

BFD Virtually Erskine
BFD Virtually Erskine is an expansion pack for BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2 featuring 2 stunning kits played by the legendary drummer Peter Erskine. Having played with some of the biggest names in jazz, pop and rock such as Weather Report, Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush, Peter Erskine's drum sound and groove are perpetually in demand.
Included are 2 of Peter's own DW kits alongside a selection of his favourite Zildjian cymbals. Peter played all articulations for the sessions which were recorded in meticulous detail in his own studio. Recorded by experienced BFD sampling guru John Emrich for Cymbal Masters, the pack features almost 15GB of highly detailed drum audio data including selected stick and brush versions. BFD Virtually Erskine is suitable for jazz, pop, rock, fusion and all other forms of music that require controlled but powerful drums.

Virtually Erskine Grooves is a BFD Groove Pack with over 400 patterns played by legendary drummer Peter Erskine. Although intended to accompany the BFD Virtually Erskine expansion pack, the included Grooves can be used with any kits from any library in your BFD3, BFD Eco or BFD2 installation to enhance your productions with Peter's precise and incredibly funky drumming.

BFD3 also contains a powerful built-in environment for pattern creation and editing, complete with a range of performances by legendary drummers for effortless production of drum tracks indistinguishable from the real thing.
BFD3 comes with VST2.4, AU, RTAS and AAX64 plugin versions and also as a standalone application.

BFD3: instant results with unlimited depth
BFD3's interface lets you easily browse for entire presets or compile great-sounding kits while also providing the depth to truly sculpt any drum sound you desire. Presets can be moulded into new shapes by retuning, damping and changing the velocity response and many other aspects of the kit and also by processing the hyper-detailed multi-microphone sounds in BFD3's internal mixing engine. The built-in Groove section offers a versatile range of session drummer performances alongside pattern editing and Groove creation functions. Select from a wide range of musical drum rudiments and simply paint your own realistic parts.
The new BFD3 library was recorded in 2 locations for varied room ambience and allowing as many diverse sounds as possible. Kits 1-4, recorded in LA's Ocean Studios, feature additional mono and hardware-compressed room channels in addition to stereo overhead and room mics, while kits 5-7 are stick, brush and mallet versions of a custom Mapleworks kit recorded in a clean and tight but vibrant room at Omega Studios in Rockville, Maryland. With detail levels of up to 80 velocity layers, rim-clicks and rim-shots for toms and bells and splashes for hihats, BFD3's sounds are more expressive than ever before.
Efficient engine with intelligent modelling
BFD3's new features reduce the impact of this high detail on your system resources. The library makes use of zero-loss compression for audio data stored on disk resulting in less strain on your hard disk, with decompression while streaming incurring minimal overhead. The new audio engine is more efficient and introduces modelled tom resonance and bleed for even more realism without using any memory-hungry audio data. The modelling augments and blends the kit together with a natural-sounding 'glue' which varies depending on the characteristics and tuning of any combination of drums, something that cannot be achieved only by using samples.
The internal mixing engine has DCAM-modelled compression, filtering and other effects alongside great-sounding EQ and algorithmic reverbs. External signals can be used as compression sidechains, ambient channels for individual drums can be isolated and processed separately. BFD3's new workflow enhancements even let you hide multiple drum and ambient mics for adopting simpler mixing approaches.
Exporting audio and using external processing
BFD3 makes it easy to route multiple channels to discrete outputs for processing with other plugins or outboard gear. It even provides multi-channel audio export direct to disk. Grooves can be exported using drag and drop - perfect for compiling loops. BFD3 is a complete workstation usable for any production styles that demand stunningly realistic mix-ready acoustic drums.
