ARC 3 uses a ground-breaking new analysis and correction algorithm that delivers results you can’t find in other digital room correction systems. By measuring your room across a 3D space around the listening position, IK’s award-winning VRM™ (Volumetric Response Modeling) technology creates a 3D snapshot of your room, identifying problematic issues without over-processing the sound.

Every room and setup is different, and ARC 3 gives you the controls to fine-tune your correction for ideal performance anywhere:

Adjustable correction range

By default, ARC corrects the entire frequency spectrum, but you can define limits to both upper and lower correction ranges separately. This is useful if you want to preserve the unique voicing of your monitors or are just looking to correct a certain frequency range.

Variable resolution and smoothing

Adjust the resolution of the correction filter to use more or fewer frequency bands. Depending on your room’s unique sound, this lets you achieve more surgical correction, or a broader, smoother balance.

2 Phase Modes

Check your mix right from your desk

Virtual monitoring lets you intentionally shape your sound to emulate devices like TVs and car audio systems, as well as many popular studio monitors, to quickly listen to your mix on other "virtual" systems to ensure a perfect sound translation.

Natural and Linear phase modes ensure precise stereo imaging. Natural mode improves the phase response, while linear phase maintains the existing phase response, which may be preferable in certain rooms and conditions.

Powerful metering at a glance

ARC provides useful tools to speed up your workflow, with Peak, RMS, Loudness and dynamic range metering. And a real-time spectrum analyzer shows how your music was interacting with your room before correction, showing you how the room was affecting the sound.

A sound philosophy

Lurssen Mastering Console is a totally new approach to digital audio mastering. It provides a complete emulation of the entire mastering processing chain used by world-renowned mastering engineers Gavin Lurssen and Reuben Cohen and their team. This chain includes tube equalizers, solid state equalizers, limiters, de-essers and solid state compressors. Lurssen Mastering Console models and recreates the interactions between the individual processors in its chain down to the actual gear hookup schematics themselves. This approach effectively gives you access to over 25 years worth of knowledge in the form of workflow secrets, special techniques, signal chains and technical know-how.

A lifetime’s worth of mastering experience at your fingertips

It’s easy to get great results with Lurssen Mastering Console. It comes with 25 unique mastering templates, called “Styles,” that custom tailor its mastering processing chain for hip-hop, country, rock, Americana and more. These templates eliminate all the hard work of the mastering process; Gavin and his team have set everything up for you from the signal flow to the individual settings of each processor. All you have to do is load a track, choose a template and you’ll be ready to start mastering. Or, in other words, Lurssen Mastering Console can help you achieve amazingly professional results even when a trip to Lurssen Mastering in Los Angeles just isn’t in the budget.

Streamlined control

Once you’ve selected a template, Lurssen Mastering Console presents you with three easy to use controls that let you adjust the master to your taste. Just like in Gavin’s studio, you can adjust a linked Input Drive, adjust a five band EQ and also use a special “PUSH” knob. The PUSH knob is particularly important because it lets you subtly and uniformly nudge the EQs so you can “ride” the flow of the song and highlight parts, adding that special Lurssen magic to your masters. You also get two VU meters, a master bypass switch (quite handy for hearing your work versus the original file) and a STEREO/MONO monitoring switch. You can record the real-time adjustments to the two master knobs via the automation feature so you can really dig into the nitty gritty of your master and record your work for later.

Waveform Display

Lurssen Mastering Console lets you see your audio thanks to this handy waveform display. You can loop audio here, view and edit automation data and move freely through your chosen song.

Styles and control

Lurssen Mastering Console has been designed to sound great without any tweaking required on your part. That being said, you can view and alter some of the settings of Gavin’s processing chain thanks to the Chain view screen. Here you can view the individual components that comprise each Style template and make adjustments to things like gain reduction on specific pieces of gear. You can save your changes to the Style templates as presets, which can also store different EQ settings.

Powerful processing and effortless export

As with mixing, mastering is about ensuring that your audio sounds as good as possible on as many playback devices as possible. Lurssen Mastering Console allows for an extreme degree of sonic detail thanks to its 88.2/96kHz DSP processing. Finished audio rendered with Lurssen Mastering Console sounds great in any format. It allows for export to all popular file formats from AAC to WAV, FLAC and beyond.

Projects in Lurssen Mastering Console for Mac and PC are compatible with Lurssen Mastering for iPad. That means that if you have both applications, you can transfer your projects and use the iPad version to hear how your work sounds on a variety of different output devices (you can also use the iPad version to finish projects and vice versa).

At its core, Mic Room is all about enhancing the sonic flexibility and versatility of your own physical microphone collection. It’s a T-RackS module, so it can be used either standalone or as a configurable plug-in. For best results, apply this module to individual tracks in your mix that contain audio recorded from a microphone source — like vocal, acoustic guitar or drum tracks.

Once placed on the track, select the microphone used to capture the original audio. All of Mic Room’s microphone models can be selected as source microphones. The proximity adjustment effect emulates the “proximity effect” that occurs when your source and microphone are close. Dial it in to make it sound like you’re source is right next to the mix for those deep, rich and vibey tones associated with “FM radio vocals.” Or, alternatively, you can scoop out the bass frequencies by turning the control counterclockwise.

The harmonic content adjustment effect gives you the full power and rich harmonic complexity of a tube condenser. This control lets you add saturation, character and texture to your recordings. Or, in other words, this is precisely the kind of thing that can give a lackluster vocal track that little extra bit of personality and warmth. You can also get creative and unusual sounds by completely maxing out the controls.

Match it like a master with the Master Match

T-RackS 5 Master Match module is a new type of plug-in that automatically matches the sound of your songs using up to 3 different source tracks as reference.

Master Match calculates the spectral balance and perceived loudness of the reference tracks, analyzes them using sophisticated algorithms and then creates an exact match for the source material providing an editable ultra-high quality EQ curve and level adjustment. This can be achieved using the Master Match as a stand-alone processor or at the end of a pre-existing processing chain.

Thanks to this new powerful module, you can create great sounding masters or mixes in seconds, sounding every bit as good as your preferred tracks, without the need for any previous audio engineering experience or specialized skills.

Additionally, the Master Match can provide its magic either by being used as a fully automatic processor, or alternatively it can be used as your personal audio engineer assistant, since you can look at the suggestion it gives, and then you have the freedom to apply those by yourself using the T-RackS 5 tools you prefer.

The Dyna-Mu – glue for your mix

The new T-RackS 5 Dyna-Mu vari-mu compressor/limiter is based on an iconic American coveted piece of hardware praised for its subtle but instantly recognizable sonic fingerprint. Thanks to its transformers and all-tube modeled heart, it can impart an audible magic which makes a mix bloom, amazingly gluing all the parts together.

The Dyna-Mu is an exceptional all-rounder that will work wonders on full mixes as well as single sources. Use it on drums to make them full or to bring out the natural ambience of the room using parallel compression; try it on vocals to make them cut through the mix or on electric bass to give it a rock-solid presence. Push it hard creatively or just use it to “finesse” a track. Either way, don’t be surprised if you end up using it all the time.

Not all plug-ins are born EQual

The new T-RackS 5 EQual digital equalizer is a 10-band, ultra-clear, high-end parametric equalizer with an extremely transparent sound, a full-screen resizable interface for ultra-precise editing and a vast array of filter shapes that replicate the typical curves of classic analog EQ’s from Neve, SSL, API and other legendary machines.

The new flexible module chain view allows you to manage all the modules in a flexible way, dragging and dropping them into the 16-processor series/parallel signal chain at will directly from the sidebar carousel showing all T-RackS available modules. Simply put, no other platform allows such unprecedented versatility.

The waveform view allows for super-fast editing operations of the waveform such as trimming, fading and looping of a selected area as well as placing snapshots for settings recall. We also made it a lot larger to help you visually perform all these tasks with greater precision.

Audiophile grade audio engine

They made T-RackS 5 more sonically powerful than ever. Now projects are supported with audio up to 192kHz / 32 bit floating point, so you can master for high-definition music platforms and distribution without ever leaving its single interface.

Plus, they added 4 dithering options for you to choose from, meaning you can optimize the dithering noise when reducing the bit-depth of your tracks to match the actual content of the song.

On top of that, T-RackS internal resampling engine has also been improved to deliver nothing less than best-in-class performance including DDM (Digital Delivery Mastering) on the way out from the final limiting stage, offering an additional layer of protection against inter-sample peaks and overshoots that could be generated by MP3, AAC encoding or similar compression and decompression processes.

Broadcast-ready metering for music and multimedia

T-RackS 5 includes a comprehensive suite of metering tools – with a completely overhauled internal engine - that provides you with immediate and complete visual information about the content of your audio material, so you can easily achieve professional results that will meet the strictest broadcast compatibility standards and will always sound great.

The new precision loudness LUFS meter, compliant with all leading professional reference standards, gives you valuable information about the integrated, mid or short term loudness of the material you are working on, so you know right away you are producing a master that has the perfect loudness for music delivery or broadcasting.

Peak, RMS and Dynamic Range meters give you useful information about the “crest factor” and dynamic response of your mixes. This way you can decide whether you want to go for a more compressed sound or a more dynamic one while still retaining the emotional impact of your songs.

The spectrogram, the real-time analyzer, the phase and correlation meters will also help you visually spot frequency imbalances and phase problems you might need to address before printing your masters for both digital and physical distribution.

M/S meters too will help you gather information about the relations between the mono and the stereo content of a track in terms of “overall energy”, so you can choose whether to go for a more widespread or in-your-face kind of sound.

Additionally, T-RackS 5’s new metering section can be launched as a separate floating window, like on a secondary screen, to let you keep an eye on levels while you focus on sound processing.

Album assembly

In T-RackS 5 you now can sequence and assemble your full-length production directly within the interface and create a cohesive album sequence, with suitable track metadata, like pauses, fades, track ID’s, ISRC codes, CD-Text, etc. Then you can export single high quality master audio files or the whole project in various formats such as WAV, AIFF, standard DDP image for professional replication plants, or Wav Cue files.

It’s fast, it’s intuitive, and most importantly, it brings back the fun of sequencing an album that, despite being considered by many as a tedious activity, is indeed a true art form and one of the most emotional aspects of creating a full music experience.

Divide and conquer your audio

Controlling the full frequency spectrum is no easy task. Sometimes you need specialized tools that allow more flexibility than you get with a standard EQ. The T-Racks Multiband Series groups four dynamics processors, each capable of splitting the audio program into user-defined frequency bands and precisely processing them. The result is continuous control of the entire track or mix, actually combining EQ and dynamics. Multiband processors are particularly handy in mastering applications where you want to adjust a less-than-perfectly mixed track in selected areas of frequency and time, but leave the rest of the spectrum untouched.

Quad Comp

As suggested by its name, Quad Comp is a multiband processor that incorporates up to four fully featured compressors of the Opto type, each one operating on a separate, user-definable frequency band. The ability to compress each band separately allows you to tame unwanted peaks in a selected portion of the audio spectrum, only if and when a set threshold is exceeded. The possibility to set compression ratio and time constants independently for each band gives you extreme flexibility and precision. Solo and mute buttons make it easy to audition how the compressor is working on a selected band.

Quad Lim

Quad Lim is the limiter version of Quad Comp, which, according to the limiting principle, has a fixed, infinity-to-1 ratio. Time constants and makeup gain are user definable for increased control. As with Quad Comp and the other Multi Series processors, you can adjust the slope of the filter that splits the frequency bands, so that dynamics control is broader or sharper, depending on your needs. As an additional layer of control, Quad Lim features a master brickwall limiter that can be engaged to avoid overshoots.

Quad Image

Combining the concept of M/S (Mid Side) matrix processing of the stereo field with multiband architecture, Quad image effectively allows control over the stereo width of each frequency band. Don’t be fooled by its simple control set — this is one powerful processor. By judiciously adjusting the width of each band, you not only can fix technical issues in a mix, but get creative, as well. For instance, you could focus the midrange in the center while making the highs or lows super wide, thus adding impact and "wow factor.”

De-Esser

De-essing is also known as "frequency dependant compression,” but whatever you call it, the idea is to control excessive sibilance (exaggerated “s” sounds), which can be particularly problematic on vocal tracks. By enabling up to three frequency bands, De-Esser lets you to process certain frequency areas more than others. The dedicated control set also allows you to precisely tailor the operating mode, and audition the de-essing action or the part of the audio spectrum the processor is working on. Although primarily used on vocal tracks, De-Esser is also handy for taming other sources with excessive high-frequency content, like overly bright hi-hats and crash cymbals.

Gorgeous tone, in a DAW or on its own

You can open T-RackS modules as single plug-ins inside your DAW, or under an integrated plug-in shell that can host up to 12 modules at a time in 8 plug-in slots, and create complex signal chains.

If you’d prefer, you can run T-RackS as a standalone application. If you have IK’s ARC System 2, when you open T-RackS in standalone mode, the ARC processing will be seamlessly integrated into the signal chain.

Welcome to perfect analog color and saturation

Tube saturation. Tape saturation. Transformer coloration. If you’ve worked on audio projects in the analog domain, you’re familiar with these concepts. You know what they are, what they can do to a track or recording, and how to get them to work their magic.

The effect of Saturation, or the introduction of harmonic distortion, on an audio track or mix can add that certain special “flavor” and “warmth” that only magnetic tape, tubes, transformers or transistors can deliver. The T-RackS Saturator X delivers that classic analog saturation and takes you on a trip back in time to the birth of “modern” recording before computers and opens your recordings to the mysterious, elusive and warm world of analog saturation.

Comprehensive Warmth and Growl

T-RackS Saturator X is a comprehensive tool for adding analog flavor to your recordings. From tape to tube to transformer to transistor, it provides you with options — 10 individual styles of saturation and distortion from the gentle, subtle hint of drive from a slightly overdriven transistor to the full-on wooly nasty in-your-face mayhem of tubes driven to beyond their limit… and everything in between. T-RackS Saturator X delivers.

Saturator Operator

T-RackS Saturator X is intuitive and extremely easy to use. It works as a plug-in on the individual tracks in your mix or as part of the T-RackS chain. It works by imparting distortion into the digital processing which by its nature doesn't typically change or alter the linearity of the frequency response and harmonic pattern of a signal. The introduction of distortion simulates the way analog circuitry behaves especially when pushed beyond its limit.

The controls on the Saturator X are pretty straightforward: Input Gain, Ouput drive (can be independent or inverse linked controls), Saturation mode select, Brickwall limiter engage and Oversampling select.

The Input Gain and Output level controls can operate as individual controls, allowing you to freely adjust how much saturation effect is applied and how loud the effect appears in the mix. You can also “inverse link” the two and maintain the ratio of input gain to output volume. This lets you set your overall perceived volume, lock it in, then adjust the amount of saturation applied without changing the output level.

10 modes of Analog

Each of the 10 saturation modes accurately delivers the behavior of the analog hardware component and circuitry or medium, selected for its peculiar character.

The palette of available tones varies from the very subtle "color" of the transformers, which offer a super light change in frequency response and only a hint of breakup towards the very top end of the gain range, to more pronounced and downright "nasty" distortion as in tubes or solid states circuit designs.

The modes include:

• Tape 1 - This mode reproduces the classic character and high frequency compression of an analog tape machine reaching saturation when pushed above normal recording levels.
• Tape 2 - Similar to Tape 1 in terms of typical uses, this mode reproduces a more "Lo-Fi" analog tape response with more pronounced distortion and high frequency roll-off.
• Master +6dB - This is a digitally-recreated soft saturation curve that can be very useful when mastering finished tracks to add RMS level and “body” to a somewhat weak-sounding mix.
• Master + 12dB-  This is similar to Master +6dB but with a more pronounced soft-saturation curve to make the effect even more prominent.
• Tube 1 - Push Pull - This mode produces classic tube saturation with odd harmonics added by the symmetrical clipping of the Push/Pull electronics. This creates a punchy distortion that can make everything sound warmer if used lightly or with an aggressive edge when pushed.
• Tube 2 - Class A-  This mode produces tube saturation with more even harmonics added by the asymmetry of the Class A design. When used gently on stems or a finished mix, it adds a beautiful “halo” to the audio that is processed, definitely making it sound more analog.
• Solid State 1 - Push Pull - Same as the Tube mode, but with the more aggressive character of the solid state circuitry. This mode is best used when transients need to be preserved.
• Solid State 2 - Class A-  Same as the Tube mode but with the more aggressive character of the solid state circuitry. This mode adds the same kind of magic “halo” the Tube Class A provides but with a more defined transient response.
• Transformer - Iron - This mode reproduces the very subtle color of iron core transformer harmonic enhancement which features less even harmonics. This mode adds a very gentle and subtle saturation adding an slight amount of distortion.
• Transformer - Steel - This mode reproduces steel core transformer behavior. The difference with the iron is that it provides almost equal amount of odd and even harmonic enhancement. This mode adds a very gentle saturation introducing only a slight amount of distortion.

Magic Eye Metering

Saturator X also features a “Magic Eye” VU meter that quickly gives you a visual indication of the amount of saturation being applied to the incoming signal. This style of VU meter replicates the vintage tube indicators and will instantly transport you back in time.

Never “Over” — Brickwall Limiter

Saturate at will without clipping. When engaged, the Brickwall Limiter makes sure you’re never into digital clipping land. — that’s a distortion no one wants to hear. The Saturator X Brickwall Limiter has no user adjustable controls, it is simply the gatekeeper to ensure that your tracks or mixes never ever wander of the path.

Oversampling

Saturator X also features an “Oversampling” effect that allows you to choose the oversampling multiplier you’d like to add to your signal. Oversampling provides a higher definition “picture” of your audio by providing a better rendering of the harmonics pattern and overall quality of the processing.

Track or Master

Saturator X is at home on individual tracks where you can use it as a creative tool to add dimension, depth and a "warm and fuzzy" analog feel, or pushed to extreme limits saturation for artistic application. Use it on the master fader where gain can applied more judiciously to give it the character of an analog stage, be it tube, transistor, solid solid state or a tape deck.
