This Jazz Bass has hardly been used, it could be called New Old Stock if the original dealler still had it. There's no belt rash or other noticable use marking. There's a couple of small little dings on the back if you look for them There's also a small finish imperfection in the urethane finish by the plug in the dark color but it's barely noticable. There's more pictures available.
The Fender Jazz Bass was originally introduced as the 'two pickup Precision' in 1960, but it ended up being more than that. The first version utilised a pair of stacked knobs that offered volume and tone controls for both of the single-coiled pickups. But it was the later revamped model, with individual volumes and a shared tone, that soon became the accepted standard for this instrument. It's this second design that has become the footprint for many of the Jazz basses that followed, including this model.
The fretless rosewood fretboard lets you play inbetween the notes like you can on an upright bass yet gives you the sound of an electric bass. You could say it's the best of worlds!
