The dynamic storyboard workflow might just change the way you edit from now on. Quickly assemble rough cuts and alternate versions in an uncomplicated storyboard environment. Changes made to the main storyboard are reflected instantaneously in the timeline. In reverse, edits on the timeline can be synchronized to the storyboard with only one click, or automatically. Additional storyboards can also be created and used for experimental edits, alternate sequencing, or to keep track of different sections within your video.

With the powerful, flexible Bézier Masking plug-in, you can create up to five different masks, choosing from oval, rectangle or custom shapes. These can then either cut a section of the video out to reveal different video beneath, or have an effect applied within them – such as color grading or blur – making it possible to blur someone's face while leaving the rest of the video in focus. Tied in with the new motion tracker the mask can move along with an object during the course of the video.

For quick and easy removal of lens distortions, the new Lens Correction plugin leverages an extensive list of known lens profiles to automatically correct common distortions like fisheye. Adjust and stretch your Picture-in-Picture video in flexible new ways with the improved PIP plugin. You could always keep your video’s aspect ratio, but now you have more options for changing it – into any parallelogram with opposite sides always parallel, or as any four-sided shape by adjusting the corners individually.

Storyboards are great, and they just got even better. Now create separate storyboards for each nested timeline in your project. Add the same media file to a storyboard multiple times with independent in and out points. Take your rough cutting to the next level.

This indicator allows you to see if the media contained in a timeline event has FX applied at the media level. You can access and edit media FX from a timeline event, and changes will apply to every timeline event that uses that same media.  A great way to apply or change FX to multiple timeline events at the same time.

VEGAS Pro now looks great on your High DPI monitor. Icons and windows appear crisp and sharp, and make working those long editing sessions easier on your eyes than ever before. And things still look great even if you move to a non high-dpi monitor.

Sometimes the perfect edit means moving a group of events all at once. But sometimes you need to move only one or two and leave the others. Now you can temporarily ignore event grouping instantly to make your edit, while the events stay permanently grouped.

Now you have the option to display the exact length of your event right on the event itself. What’s more, you can also manually change the length value right in the display to adjust the length of the event with no need for dragging ends or manually counting frames.

We’ve all had the unpleasant surprise of finding we deleted a clip from our timeline because we didn’t realize it was on a track we deleted. Avoid that from now on!  VEGAS Pro now warns you if the track you’re deleting contains any media. No more accidents – know that you’re safe.
