Their latest generation 18-in, 8-out USB interface is ideal for multi-instrumentalists, producers and small bands who want to record audio from a wide range of sources such as drums, guitars, keyboards and vocals. It's their most comprehensive desktop interface, giving you four mic preamps, round-trip latency as low as 2.74ms*, class-leading sound quality, and two separate headphone outputs, so you can give different monitoring settings to two artists, or an engineer and artist. 18i8 has a way in for everyone, with four mic/line inputs, two of which double as instrument-ins, and four fixed line-ins. Then, you have four balanced line-outs and speaker switching plus two independent headphone outs to monitor, mix and play back however you want. Whatever you’re recording, wherever you are, you can take your whole studio with you.

Drum up some incredible recordings
With Scarlett 18i20’s dual ADAT optical In and Out ports, you can expand your recording and mixing capabilities, adding up to eight further inputs and outputs at 48kHz or 96kHz via a mic pre such as Scarlett OctoPre or Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic, or four channels at 192kHz. That’s more than enough channels to mic up the whole band and route a full mix to a console or summing box.

- Front-panel 1/4" inputs 1-2 may be switched to accept unbalanced instrument level or balanced line level, while front-panel 1/4" inputs 3-4 accept line level
- Independent gain knobs with gain halo metering make it easy to set input levels for channels 1-4
- Selectable pads for inputs 1-4 attenuate the input signal to inhibit distortion
- 1/4" inputs 5-8 on the rear panel accept balanced line-level signal without gain control
- One pair of virtual loopback inputs allows you to capture a stereo feed of any combination of hardware input and software playback channels, making podcasting, live streaming, and sampling tasks easier
- Four balanced 1/4" TRS monitor outputs with anti-thump technology
- Two stereo 1/4" headphone outputs
- Independent volume controls for headphone and monitor outputs
- Main/alt speaker switching via software
- Traditional 5-pin MIDI I/O provides straightforward connectivity for a MIDI keyboard, synthesizer, or sound module
